| Oil & Gas Glossary |

- The ST-2 well at Garden Hill, Newfoundland strikes oil and natural gas. On August 15, 2002 the Company announced the preliminary results of drillstem tests. ST-2 flowed 195 bopd of light, sweet crude (51 degree API) and 1.2 million cu feet per day of natural gas. There was no produced water and the pressures were constant during the tests. The well was not stimulated.

- Canadian Imperial completed drilling the Port au Port # 1 Sidetrack well (ST-1) on December 14, 2001. Our drilling and reservoir engineers determined that oil and gas encountered were in non-commercial quantities and the well was abandoned. The Simmons #31 drill rig recompleted the Port au Port #1 well in preparation for production.

- On our Harry's River block, the Lantech Longyear 50 drill rig spudded our Indian Head #1 well on December 5, 2001. The well was drilled to 804.9 m and suspended. The Company was encouraged by the coring data and plans a seismic program. The coring data will then be combined with the seismic interpretation to decide on re-entering and deepening the Indian Head #1 well.
